Stevens & Ferry County Table of Ten

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of children and families through trusting partnerships to promote safe, healthy, and happy homes.

Core Strategies

1. Create a trusting and cooperative environment for all participants in the system.

2. Use partnerships to share expertise and provide mutual support.

3. Tailor services to individual client needs and situations so that parents are fully engaged in the process.

4. Develop a process to clarify disagreements.

Critical Behaviors

1. Improve use of pre-hearing conferences by making them a meaningful event.

2. Give parents an opportunity to "tell their story" to the judge.

3. Members of the child welfare legal community will speak directly to each other, remembering to be tough on the issues, but tender on the person

Measure of Success

The county will measure success by examining the reduction of time in care with no completed plan. Base-line data points as of 9-25-08 are as follows:

Time in Care __ __ __________Percentage of Total # of Children

>2 mo. to 6 mo. ........................................12.0%

>6 mo. to 1 year.........................................12.4%

>1 to 2 years..............................................25.1%

>2 to 3 years.............................................22.2%

>3 to 4 years.............................................10.5%

>4 years....................................................17.8%

***** Note: numbers are unofficial and are not intended for any use beyond a Table of Ten tracking measure.
